Alphabet Stamp Set

I've been editing my sister and a bunch of friend's cover letters and resumes. It usually takes me an hour for each set, because I'm crazy about the relevance of the content, correct grammar and spacing. If all goes well, they will land jobs and treat me to lunch. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Butterfly Butterflies Stickers or Seals

I moved from the suburbs to an urban area two years ago and have not seen one butterfly in the city. No butterflies fluttering among blooming flowers . . . on a second thought, there are no flowers in my neighborhood. Although living in the city is very convenient, it's lacking the fresh air and greenery of a healthy environment. Time to get some toxic air absorbing peperomia plants for the apartment.

Shades of Purple Vintage Buttons

Just listed a variety of purple buttons from the estate sale on Etsy. Still have some white and brown batches to put up. Cloudy and raining all day, I felt so sluggish and blah all day. My husband keeps telling me to check on prices to Mexico for vacation. I'm thinking of going on a "staycation" in NY and maybe try my luck at winning some $26 show tickets at the Wicked lottery. I just followed my own blog and don't know how to unfollow.

Seeing Red in the Past, Present, and Future

Shades of Red Vintage Buttons

While blue colors give me a calming feeling, the color red gives me many conflicting emotions.

When I associate red with my unemployment, I feel frustration. People find it unbelievable that as a registered nurse, I am jobless. No nursing shortage for new graduate nurses with no hospital experience in NY. The market is over-saturated and hundreds of new nurses graduate every 3 months from the many nursing programs out here. My frustration is intensified, because nursing was a second-career choice to do something I was passionate about, but has turned into a failure with expensive student loans.

Red represents hope in regards to my future. I am fortunate to have the support to apply to a Master's program for occupational therapy. The benefits of occupational therapy have greatly improved the quality of life of a loved one and several close friends. Hopefully, I will be able to gain acceptance into this highly competitive program.

The color of red signifies good fortune and luck in my culture. Many people are surprised when they discover that I do not come from a warm and loving family. However, I consider myself fortunate to have a supportive husband and finally . . . a place to call home.

Shades of Vintage Blue

Almost done cleaning and sorting the buttons from an estate sale last week. My tired and dry eyes are concentrating on batches of buttons in rainbow colors. I love the texture of vintage buttons.

Had my first sale on Etsy this week on some vintage buttons from a wonderful buyer. Now I have just enough money to cover the cost of April's Etsy fees - so far. Woot!

However, I do not destroy books and only use loose papers or pieces found lying around flea markets, estate sales, etc.
